Onions
Aozora sources a variety of onions from the Hawkes Bay and Pukekohe growing areas. We specialise in employing good growers to produce specific varieties “to order” for our international customers.
Aozora ships annually to Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Sweden, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
On average Aozora exports 4,000 MT of onions per season. We envision developing further onion business throughout Asia as tariffs on this product reduce over the next few years.
Shipment is by direct, 40' door off container or, on occasion, by reefer charter (along with our buttercup squash exports).
