John Bostock
The majority of Aozora’s fresh produce supply comes from shareholder J M Bostock Ltd, based in the Hawkes Bay. The JB Group is the main supplier of buttercup squash and onions for our Japan and Korea trade. John Bostock is also the largest organic apple grower in New Zealand, and owner of Rush Munro’s Ice Cream. The JB Group crops over 2,000 ha of land annually and the company goal is to be 100% organic in its production within the next 10 years.

Anthony Bruford
Anthony Bruford is the Auckland-based Managing Director of Aozora. He has been with the group since 2001, and during that time has overseen the rapid growth of the company’s business to Japan, as well as the expansion into the Korean and Chinese markets. He was also involved with setting up the joint ventures in Chile, and developing this alternative supply source for fresh produce.
Anthony has a double degree (BCom/BA) in International Business and Japanese from the University of Auckland. He lived in Japan for over four years and speaks the language fluently.
